I am thrilled to share that I recently had the opportunity to record a podcast episode discussing my career journey. It was an incredible experience to reflect on the twists, turns, and lessons learned along the last 25+ years. While I have spoken about my career in various settings, this was my first time doing so in the format of a podcast.
In this episode:
➡️ I delved into my victories and challenges, and the growth that has shaped my professional path.
➡️ I shared my views on strategies to drive projects to success, the importance of having engaged sponsors, high performing teams and mentoring.
My key takeaways:
As I watched the recording, I was reminded that public speaking is not easy, and there are additional challenges for us presenting in a second language. Given my experience of working in global organisations, I have long been fascinated by the cultural and linguistic differences facing global teams and how to be a more inclusive user of language.
A huge thank you to Sheilina Somani, ChPP, RPP, FAPM, FHEA for helping me prepare and for suggesting I free myself from worrying about my accent and to embrace it as part of my identity. I followed your advice to focus on the clarity of my intention and my message.
A huge thank you to Broster Buchanan, 'The Women in...' Podcast, Phil Wolffe, Eddie Suich, Sophia Ramsbottom, Olly Harper for the chance to share my story and insights with all of you and for creating a platform where diverse career journeys like mine can be celebrated and shared.
